This paper is a summary of environmental, health and safety issues pertaining to the manufacture of crystalline-Si (x-Si), amorphous-silicon (α-Si), copper indium diselenide (CIS), copper indium gallium diselenide (CGS), gallium arsenide (GaAs) and cadmium telluride (CdTe), which are currently commercially available.
