This paper reviews solar home system (SHS) installations in Bangladesh and investigates the characteristics of adopters and non-adopters, impacts on the household (including those on women), technical and management challenges of the systems, the quality of the delivery system, future potential for the market, and the role of financing and subsidies in the dissemination of the technology.
