This report describes the public policy to promote biofuels in Argentina, as well as the current state of regulations. We present a complete picture of the scope and evolution of the various policies that have been adopted by the country in this area, the contractual relations between the different actors of biofuel chains, and identify the factors that should be considered to guide policies that promote a distribution equitable of the benefits of the industry. In the last part there are some considerations on the possible effect biofuels on food security.
