The objective of the Chiller Energy Efficiency Project for Philippines is to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by replacing inefficient chillers, including both old Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC)-based chillers and non-CFC-based chillers. The changes include: the restructuring seeks the approval of the Regional Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific for a two year extension of the closing date of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Trust Fund TF095991 which provides co-financing to the project. The closing date of the project and the Ozone TF that co-finances the project is January 1, 2017 while the closing date of the GEF TF is January 1, 2015. The extension of the closing date of the GEF TF will align its closing date with that of the project and the ozone TF and will enable the project to complete its chiller replacement program and achieve its project development objectives. As a result of the extension of the closing date, the disbursement estimates will also be formally revised. This is the first request for extension of the closing date for the grant.
