This report profiles a regional profile of natural Disasters in the Middle East and North Africa (MNA), including a focus on climate related hazards. It tracks progress on disaster risk management at the regional and national levels and looks at remaining challenges. It also explores World Bank Disaster Risk Management Programming in the MNA Region and proposes a way forward. The report aims to establish a more strategic and collaborative framework  between the World Bank and its international partners, particularly the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to assist Middle East and North Africa countries’ efforts to shift from disaster response to proactive risk management.
