This report presents the status of greenhouse gas emission research in India and quantifies the potential and cost of low carbon technologies in Indian agriculture by studying the rice and wheat production systems of the Indo-Gangetic Plains. It has also highlighted opportunities, constraints and interventions required for promoting low carbon technologies in Indian agriculture.
