This report focuses on inequality and climate change as two major injustices threatening the long-lasting change to lift people out of poverty and hunger. The climate change focus argues that climate change is prolonging and causing hunger and poverty through its impact on crops and livelihoods. The key message is that ‘inequality and climate change are man-made and can be overcome.’ The report calls on UK political leaders to invest in a low carbon future, support climate resilience and pro-poor low carbon transitions in developing countries, promote ambitious global agreements on climate change, shift finance from fossil fuels and promote sustainable energy access and mobilize finance to fund climate adaptation and a low carbon transition.
