The development objective of the Adaptation to Climate Change in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (KACCAL) Project is to improve the ability of participating districts and communities in the arid and semi-arid lands to plan and implement climate change adaptation measures. The reallocation is necessary to accommodate for the changes which were triggered by linking KACCAL to the new parent project, Kenya Agriculture Productivity and Agribusiness Project (KAPAP). In particular implementation arrangements and some activities needed to be revised and updated, which had implications on the allocation to the various expenditure categories. The restructuring paper reflects the action plan of the Government of Kenya to declare KACCAL effective as soon as possible and to complete the project successfully. The closing date of the project will be extended from December 31, 2014 until October 31, 2016. This will be the first extension of the project.
