The objective of this study was to assess the Jamaican population’s knowledge, attitude and behavioural practices with regards to climate change. This information will be used, as input for the drafting of a National Climate Change Public Education Outreach (PEO) strategy which in effect would assist in better preparing communities for the effects of climate changes. Findings of this study show, among other things, a general acknowledgement by the public of the link between the burning of fossil fuels and the greenhouse effect - except on the local level. The surveys also revealed a sense of obligation of the government by the populace to address the issue of climate adaptation with an inversely proportional lack of willingness to bear a personal share of the cost of such adaptation.
