The atlas enables users to visualise information on wind and solar resources, and to overlay additional information on, for example, protected areas, roads or infrastructures. The aim is to provide access to a set of information layers, which will enable users to highlight areas of opportunity for developing renewable energy projects. The platform allows users to create and save thematic maps. On request by the user, these maps may be published for public use on the Global Atlas website. All public maps may be accessed through the Search users maps page on the Global Atlas website.
