The main sectors examined in this report are power, transport, industry, buildings and forestry. The report came out with suggestions to adopt low-carbon strategies for these sectors. In its interim report, the expert group concluded that India can reach its target of 20-25 per cent reduction in its emission intensity by the year 2020 compared to 2005 levels, even while pursuing a growth rate of 9 per cent.
