An innovative social network tool for analysing and improving complex governance arrangements has recently been developed by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). Known as Influence Network Mapping (Net-Map), it is a simple, low-tech and low-cost interview-based mapping tool. NetMap helps people understand and improve situations in which multiple actors influence the outcomes of any development intervention.
