This journal article describes how concerns about the availability of fuels, balance of trade, and climate change are leading to the introduction of biofuel programs in Brazil, the European Union (EU), the United States and other countries. While these policies are impacting the food and fuel markets in different ways, this article seeks to distinguish between different bodies of literature to explain how different biofuels have different impacts.
