This document presents a draft impact assessment, and the national adaptation strategy and action plan (NASAP) to address climate change in the tourism sector of Saint Lucia.
The report has been divided into two volumes: which present the Impact Assessment and NASAP respectively.
These include the contextual background, methodology and limitations for the study; present the climate variability and change assessment; and the tourism sector vulnerability issues and threats as well as economic analysis and a policy, legislative and institutional review.
Saint Lucia experiences several stresses with the onset of climate change; issues related to droughts during unusually extended dry periods, and significant flooding and subsequent damage from tropical systems have been high on the agenda.
