According to this nine-page publication, a substantial body of research has investigated the life cycle impacts of solar photovoltaics (PV), including raw material production, manufacture, use and disposal. While some potentially hazardous materials are used in the life cycle of PV systems, none presents a risk different or greater than the risks found routinely in modern society, according to the authors.
