Asian economies have shown impressive growth. In doing so, water resources are becoming stressed and water utilities are facing growing challenges of providing reliable supply. Climate change will further exacerbate the challenges facing planners and providers of such services. This report presents case studies on successful Asian water utilities. The case studies provide objective, accurate and critical analyses of urban water management practices in eight Asian cities over a 10-year period. Other local leaders throughout the developing world can use these cases to help craft their own solutions, taking into account specific local circumstances.
