The Mexico City Pact was launched at the World Mayors Summit on Climate in Mexico City on 21 November 2010. It is signed by 207 cities and local governments worldwide and this report compiles progress achieved in the first two years.  Divided into three key sections, it begins by describing the significance of the Covenant in the fight against climate change, particularly the integration of Mayors into the international climate change negotiation process in order to promote urban focuses and needs, and promoting mainstreamed, integrated responses to climate change at the city level in innovative and strategic ways. The second section describes the history of the pact, including its development and evolution and the roles of key mayor stakeholders in the process. The third illustrates the results of the Pact up to 2012, including its influence in putting urban climate resilience on the international agenda and its growth of signatory cities.
