This report systematically examines all the major relevant adaptation sectors in Central Asia, including water and agriculture, forests and biodiversity, public health, disasters and extreme events, urban areas, energy, industry, transport, and oil and gas. In spite of the differences between the five republics which form Central Asia, two overriding priority areas for adaptation have been identified, which are crucial to the entire region: water and agriculture. The report reviews progress in adaptation in these two sectors, identifies gaps and proposes measures to eliminate these gaps.
