The outcomes of the 19th Conference of Parties (COP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) are expected to have a significant impact on developments in the field of forests and climate change over the coming year. In February 2014, RECOFTC brought together 11 climate change and forestry experts in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The panel of experts discussed the key outcomes of COP 19 negotiations in Warsaw and identified the potential implications for forestry and climate change sectors in the Asia-Pacific region.

This document addresses 12 key questions including: Is there sufficient political momentum to follow through on progress at COP 19? How can REDD+ capacity development efforts be adapted to the COP 19 Warsaw Framework? What is next for forests and climate change?
