Forest Carbon Strategies in Climate Change Mitigation Confronting Challenges Through On-the-Ground Experience

This report focuses on how to unlock the enormous potential of emission reduction and carbon sequestration through slowing deforestation, forest management and reforestation, forest carbon activities through improving MRV and creditability of carbon emissions and environmental benefits. It explores the options to address primary credibility proving challenges through multiple aspects, including: baseline setting, additionality, measuring, monitoring and reporting, as well as the involvement of and benefits to local and indigenous peoples, efforts to enhance environmental co-benefits and upscaling and expanding the scope of forest carbon efforts.
