This publication is an output of the Global Energy Efficiency 21 Project, launched by the United Nations at the 14th Conference of Parties. It appraises the energy efficiency situation worldwide and is intended for practitioners of energy efficiency financing as well as for policymakers. The former will find a wide array of financing mechanisms; the latter will be given an overview of available instruments and economic and institutional conditions for their success.
