The document presents a summary, of the workshop held in Bogota Colombia 2009 realized by WWF, the Ministry of Environment and other organizations, to develop adaptation strategies to climate change at the coffee region of the central Andes of Colombia and Andean-Amazon piedemont of Colombia, Ecuador and northern Peru. This publication presents concepts and case studies focused on high mountain ecosystems (cloud forests and moors). In addition, It includes a summary of the discussions about vulnerability, adaptation and monitoring and a list of management implications identified by workshop participants. In summary, the discussion concluded that it is clear that the region requires a specific Action Plan on Climate Change, integrating the dimensions of mitigation, vulnerability and adaptation. It recommended that environmental or social NGOs and cooperation agencies would contribute to the regional strategy of adaptation.
