The reports informs on what ten million people from low-income groups have gained from access to modern energy services, particularly in least developed countries. The positive impacts of the EnDev programme has been in reducing poverty and improving productive use of energy, in better living and health conditions for women and children, in better learning in schools (light, electric power), in job creation and, last not least, in saving of more than 950 000 tons of firewood and nearly a one million tons of CO2 emissions per year. The EnDev programme has taken a market based approach and by mobilizing various public and private investors.
