This report addresses electricity market design and regulation considerations for systems with high volumes of variable renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar resources. Policy recommendations are made regarding the required reform of current market and regulatory frameworks to accommodate high shares of such energy sources in a timely, cost-effective, and secure fashion.
