The ECOWAS Department of Social Affairs and Gender and the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Efficiency (ECREEE) organized a regional workshop on gender and energy to validate the ECOWAS Policy for Gender Mainstreaming in Energy Access. The workshop—which took place 4–5 June 2015 in Dakar, Senegal—was organized in partnership with the Government of Senegal, the African Development Bank, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
