Colombia's agricultural communities have been severely affected by the impacts of climatic uncertainty and volatility. These communities operate within contexts characterised by multiple resource constraints (e.g. lack of economic resources, low levels of education and skills, precarious infrastructure), social and political marginalisationÍž challenges that are intensified by the geographic remoteness and complex topography of mountainous regions. This case study looks at a pilot projet conducted in Carmen de Carupa, Colombia, where local livelihoods are highly dependent on potato production, and to a second extent on cattle farming for milk production - activities that are both highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and variabilitiy. change and variability.
