This assessment tool and its complementary report can help policymakers assess different building efficiency policies to spur growth in energy efficient buildings. With the United Nations Sustainable Energy for All Initiative in mind, the assessment tool can be used to analyse the impacts of these policies in the areas of economic development, social development, and environmental goals. Within the framework laid out in its complementary report, the tool is intended to be used in a collaborative dialogue between policymakers and the private sector in order for building efficiency to make a measurable contribution to the Sustainable Energy for All goals.
