Climate Impacts on Energy Systems: Key Issues for Energy Sector Adaptation (Executive Summary)

This paper, which "takes the perspective of the developing world to the extent possible", presents an overview of how the energy sector might be impacted by climate change. It focuses on energy sector adaptation. One key message presented is that integrated risk-based planning processes will be critical to addressing impacts and harmonizing actions within and across sectors. According to the authors, awareness, knowledge and capacity impede mainstreaming of climate adaptation into the energy sector.
