To better understand the magnitude of funds needed to address climate change now and in the long term, developing countries are making assessments on investment flows and financing to address climate change in key sectors within the framework of an innovative collaboration with PNUD The Group Energy and Environment PNUD launched a global project of $7 million in March 2008 called strengthening the capacities of those responsible for the formulation of policies to address climate change, which works in parallel with the "Bali Roadmap" (negotiations of 2008/2009 of the UNFCCC on long-term cooperation on climate change). The overall objectives of the project are twofold: (1) aumento national capacities to coordinate ministerial positions, participate in the UNFCCC process and negotiate positions within the terms of the Bali Roadmap and (2) evaluate investment flows and financing to address climate change in key sectors.
