The residents of slums are at particularly high risk from the impacts of climate change and natural hazards, living on the most vulnerable lands within cities. This study examines the interlinkages between climate change, disaster risk, and the urban poor, underscoring four the messages that the urban poor are on the front line, city institutions such as governments and officials are important drivers of change and building resilience. It also asserts that financial support is needed.
