The impacts of climate change do not respect political boundaries and in light of this reality the Commonwealth has harnessed the talent and expertise of individuals, organisations and governments from both within and outside of its grouping to tackle this growing challenge. This informative paper begins by highlighting the leadership role the Commonwealth secretariat has undertaken in bringing climate related issues to the fore of global discussions. It then outlines some of the problems already being exacerbated by climate change and the six areas where cooperation among Commonwealth nations is most crucial. Finally there are four interviews with dynamic individuals on the forefront of research, scientific and governmental attempts to understand, legislate and adapt to climate change across borders.
