This report is the first-ever GDP-weighted, cross-country comparison of clean energy product sales. Comparing all European Union, G7, and BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China), the report finds that Denmark, Brazil, and Germany were the world leaders in clean energy product sales in 2007. To emulate these leaders, the report recommends other countries create research, development, and demonstration programs; encourage the integration of CO2 risk into financial models; and encourage domestic consumers (government, business, and individuals) to shift toward clean energy technology purchasing.
