This Pilang project will develop methodologies to facilitate effective communication between local communities and climate, marine and agricultural experts, to generate information regarding climate change vulnerabilities in the coastal area of Pilang. This information will be used to develop adaptation strategies for the target population. The project aims to:
obtain comprehensive information on the current vulnerability of local community livelihoods to climate risk
develop future climate vulnerability scenarios
communicate the links between climate risk, natural resources and community livelihoods to the local community and local government
identify and analyse adaptation options to preserve coral ecosystems and community livelihoods, then prioritised them according to the community’s needs
advocate integration of climate change adaptation strategies into local, regional and national development policies
