This report and case study describes how the Bhubaneswar Municipal Hospital, while trying to serve low-income populations, saw frequently interrupted services due to erratic power supply and the lack of resources available to make improvements. The case study describes a unique solution to the hospital’s problem, highlighting how it became the first municipal hospital in India to implement renewable energy and energy efficiency measures, resulting in substantial energy savings.
