This study aims to determine the greenhouse gas emissions mitigation potential from building-related energy policies. Using scenario analysis, it examines the global potential in 2020, 2030, and 2050 for building-sector policies to promote greenhouse gas reductions. The focus is building efficiency, including net-zero buildings and retrofitting. According to the study, buildings are both a key contributor to climate change and hold the largest and most cost-effective mitigation potential.
