The purpose of this document is to provide a realistic assessment of the potential – both economic and technical – for the conversion of biomass feed stocks to energy on a sustainable basis, given the current and/or potential conditions in St. Kitts and Nevis. It is expected that this study may be used as a benchmark study for identifying key criteria to aid the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis in the evaluation and selection of commercial biomass energy systems. In addition to this study, the Federation Government has received a number of proposals (largely unsolicited) from private developers proposing a biomass-to-energy path.
