The overall deficiency of the power sector has constrained economic and social development, according to the authors of this report. Although the extent of the problems and challenges differs across regions and countries, Sub-Saharan Africa has generally lagged other regions of the world in terms of infrastructure and power sector investment and performance. This report investigates how these problems and challenges might be addressed.
