This invention involves the synthesis of ordered nanoenergetic composites by self-assembly approach. Two kinds of energetic composites containing an oxidizer and a fuel were synthesized. In one fuel nanoparticles were self-assembled on oxidizer nanorods using a polymeric linker. In the second and ordered nanoporous oxidizer was synthesized and fuel nanoparticles were impregnated therein. Because of the ordering of the oxidizer and fuel the burn rate and energy release are higher than current technologies.
