Space-optimized design for battery cells

Technology
Maturity

The new design for energy storage systems is based on novel prism-shaped housings for battery cells. Instead of conventionally contacting the cells via the cylinder covers the novel cell housing enables electrical connection of the individual cells by pressing together the side surfaces. The mechanical connection of the individual cells into a total system can be achieved from the outside for example with a customized easy-to-open package.

Benefits

The invention addresses the problem of - High complexity and low flexibility of today’s energy storage systems leads to high development costs unsatisfactory safety high cost for transportation and storage and low maintainability
