Forest Resource Environment Development and Conservation Association (FREDA) is a non-political, non-profit and non-government organization in the forestry sector of Myanmar. Its strength is expertise, dedication and dynamism. Founded in 1996, FREDA is currently composed of (409) members, comprising foresters, botanists, agronomists, zoologists, veterinary scientists, hydro-geologists, engineers, timber businessmen, journalists, artists, etc. FREDA aims to regulate climate change and environmental deterioration in Myanmar through active participation of local communities in sustainable forest management, proper land use practices and community development. FREDA has spent over a decade reforesting mangroves in the Irrawaddy Delta region.
