Nanostructured Catalytic Coating for Diesel Particle Filter


With the objective of the emission reduction of sooty particles of diesel vehicles this very new technology uses the established method applied for particle filters. Current particle filter systems require temperatures above 600 °C. This high temperature is artificially reached by higher fuel consumption. Additionally time after starting the engine until the particle filter works sufficiently is quite long. The new technology provides regeneration of sooty particles already at exhaust-gas temperatures below 400 °C. Thus due to this invention the soot burning temperature for catalytic soot oxidation can be reduced significantly.
