Water contamination is a large part of the water scarcity problem and is a global issue impacting the lives of billions of people. Technology Description: This invention uses hydrophobic microporous adsorbents (sieves) as a device to separate organic contaminants from water. The organics are effectively removed from water as the water passes through a packed bed of the microporous adsorbents. The second facet of the invention is the regeneration of the contaminant-saturated sieves with chemical oxidation so that they can be placed back in service for removing contaminants from the water. Applications: Removal of water contamination
Benefits
Effective as the water passes through a packed bed of the microporous adsorbents.
