Longevity for Low Power Wireless Sensor Networks

Technology
Maturity

An ultra-low-power array antenna has been developed to reduce the power consumption in wireless communication by several times increasing the longevity of radio devices relying on battery power and allowing for the use of smaller/ cheaper batteries and solar power especially relevant to wireless sensor network (WSN) deployments in rural areas or remote locations or difficult to access sites.

Benefits

The longevity of battery-powered wireless sensor network devices is increased through the use of an advanced ultra-low-power array antenna system instead of an omnidirectional antenna.
