HLS is a wastewater treatment technology featuring unique architecture of plants way of treatment and functions of microorganisms comparing with competitive Continuous Wastewater Treatment Technology with Activated Sludge ("CWTTAS").

Architecture

Single inverted-conetrapezoidal shaped "Hybrid-Lagoon" manages all treatment steps of (1) BOD removal (2) nitrification and (3) denitrification. The shape of the Hybrid-Lagoon enables to suspend microorganisms evenly with lower energy. The shape also enables to manage quantity of aeration flexibly. The Hybrid-Lagoon can be constructed on loosened ground with balancing water pressure and earth pressure. The Hybrid-Lagoon on the loosened ground does not require any grounded architectures and therefore can reduce a cost of construction significantly. Other than the Hybrid-Lagoon HLS does not require any tanks such as sludge circulation tank aeration tank last segmentation tank and circulation system of sludge that are all required for CWTTAS. THLS can reduce the cost of the construction.

Technology

HLS is NOT CWTTAS BUT a semibatch treatment system with activated sludge with 4 endlessly repeated processes containing:

  1. inflow process
  2. aeration process
  3. sedimentation process and
  4. outflow process.

Software

Software used in HLS is an automatic control program with non-mathematical algorism to; (1) culture and work some complex and different functions of denitrification automatically and symbiotically (2) reduce energy required for denitrification process by optimizing an amount of aeration supplied to quantitatively variable wastewater inflown and (3)maintain 90% of microorganism's function of denitrification even in winter condition such as less than 10 C of water by optimizing an amount of microorganism with variation of water degree automatically. These enable you to manage the system of HLS without any stationed staffand also enable you therefore to maintain automatic and remote control to the system.

Benefits

1. Resurrect Water Resources HLS treats municipal wastewater in less water resources and produces the treated water that is suitable for recycling water or irrigation. 2. Save Electricity Required for Water Treatment HLS can reduce electricity required for municipal wastewater treatment from 0.6kwh/m3 to 0.2kwh/m3. This means The HLS system for treatment of 10000 ton of municipal wastewater per a day can save electricity of 1.46 million kwh per a year. 3. Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emitted The HLS system for treatment of 10000 ton of municipal wastewater per a day can cut 146 million CO2kg of greenhouse gas emitted per a year (converted with electricity production from coal). 4.
