Researchers in Prof. Yi Cui’s laboratory have invented a procedure to produce novel activated carbon-based anodes. These electrodes have better electrochemical performance than previous activated carbon materials – higher voltage batteries higher energy better cycle life and improved electrical conductivity. They can be used to develop aqueous alkali-ion batteries for commercial devices.
