An Emergency drinking water system powered by renewable energy systems


A trailer-mounted self-powered water disinfection system was constructed to provide drinking water under emergency conditions which have resulted in the damage or disablement of the normal drinking water supply. The primary components of the system include an array of photovoltaic panels to generate electrical energy anultracapacitor to provide robust energy storage and a certified ultraviolet light system to provide disinfection. Additionally pretreatment is included to address aesthetic water quality issues and to improve the clarity of theraw water prior to disinfection. supplies.
