Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute

Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) was established in 1959. It has climate technology expertise in the development of 1) core technology to remove SF6 emitted from heavy electric equipment by an electron beam, 2) customized sterile patient food, 3) food irradiation processing method that can decrease food-borne diseases, 4) new breeding techniques for mutation induction in somatic cells using high LET, 5) molecular marker linked to mutated gene and marker-assisted selection (MAS) system and 6) new high value cultivars in flower crops responding to plant variety protection and climate change.
