This is the first study of its kind on Loss and Damage and the global debate around it from Pakistan bringing in field data from the country. Taking an interesting analytical route- through a novel application of the Contingent Valuation Method - the suggestions and recommendations that emerge not only have consequences for Pakistan, they contribute to the global knowledge on Loss and Damage in a unique fashion.

The present report was prepared in response to General Assembly resolution 64/205, in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report to it at its sixty-sixth session on the status of sustainable development in mountain regions.
