The Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning is contributing one billion South Korean won to support technology transfer initiatives of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Climate Technology Centre & Network (CTCN). The Centre is a key institution in helping nations to implement their climate change commitments under the Paris Agreement.

Understanding and integrating gender issues into debates, policy making and policy implementation is key to a more comprehensive approach to climate protection. As part of a European Commission project, ten cities in Finland, Sweden, Germany and Italy worked together to identify tools, processes and procedures that can contribute to promoting and supporting women in decision-making positions relevant to climate protection. Their aim is to offer ideas and suggestions to individual persons, departments and whole municipalities.
