    Papua New Guinea"s Strategic Program for Climate Resilience (SPCR) overall outcome will be the enhancement of its resilience to climate change through improved access to resources, knowledge, and tools and climate resilient infrastructure at the national, sectoral, district, and community levels. These are prerequisites for effective social development, food security and overall poverty reduction. The SPCR will support achievement of these pillars for climate resilient development.

    This guide on adaptation options is aimed at local decision-makers on the coastal regions of west Africa and takes the form of a series of fact sheets, each including methods of implementation, positive and negative case studies and estimated costs. It first reviews what is already known about climate change and coastal erosion, before describing the regions (Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Cape Verde) and their respective challenges, the importance of adaptation and the responsibilities of local decision-makers.

    The Guinea Electricity Sector Efficiency Improvement Project seeks to improve the electricity sector's commercial and operational efficiency. These results will be achieved through critical investment support and capacity building, which will impact the financial viability of the sector and quality of service delivery. The project contributes to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by addressing the large inefficiencies in the distribution sector and reducing energy losses. The project has three main components. Component 1 funds distribution efficiency improvement.
